Surprisingly, there is no legislation which limits the maximum temperature in which staff are expected to work although there is a minimum.
Therefore, we would recommend the following actions be introduced for the comfort of your staff:-
- A free supply of water
- Additional breaks introduced for staff working in high temperatures i.e. shop floors, workshops, spray booths, etc.
- That staff are monitored every 1 to 2 hours particularly those working at height and lone workers
Although we all welcome the sunny weather it sometimes can cause issues for some occupations.
